Get aways- With and WITHOUT the kids...

Every year at this time I start to itch for a get away- nothing fancy just a few nights away with a change of scenery, some wine & maybe a spa treatment...massage anyone?!? During my research I have found some great getaways- family, couple & girls weekends that are local to Long Island & the surrounding areas. These pic are my favorite...


FAMILY TRIPS:   

Hershey has many different packages, depending on which time of year you are looking for- Spring, Summer, Easter Weekend, etc... you name it there is package for you based on your needs, price & level of activity. It's super easy to book & when you stay at the park there are a variety of restaurants to choose from & activities to take part in such as, of course, THE PARK, the zoo & the waterpark; there is also a great SPA ( I told you there would be a massage). Mystic is the perfect combo of History,  Excitement & Pizza. From the Mystic Aquarium to the seaport & Mystic Pizza Mystic has all you need for a quick family getaway!  With great hotels including indoor pools,  that are in walking distance to Olde Mistick Village & The Historic Downtown, Mystic is a perfect family spot to combine education, fun & family!

If you have not been to Gurneys I don't know what you are waiting for! You could literally spend the entire weekend at the resort and never leave. Even in the winter you would have your pick of things to do and places to dine. From being pampered at the SPA to dining at the Scarpetta restaurant- enjoying amazing food & great wine! If you did want to venture off the resort of course the beauty of Montauk awaits; shopping, fine dining, miniature golf, yoga, bike riding & so much more. Don't forget the gorgeous beach that surrounds all of Gurneys- while you're there relax in a beach chair and sip a fruity drink too!

Right in the middle of the beautiful North Fork of Long Island, NY is this quaint Bed & Breakfast. What's in My Closet...???

  I have been thinking deeply about how the "staples" of our wardrobes have changed in this past year; as most things have. It is always fun and absolutely necessary to add new trends and have fun with color, texture & pattern within our wardrobe; however, it is essential that we have a foundation for these exciting pieces to be a part of. Think of a new house- the fixtures; like the kitchen cabinets and the bathroom tile are so important as a way to show the homeowner's style & personality. However, you can't have those beautiful "add ons" without the foundation of the house in place.  The "staples" of your wardrobe are the foundation, just like the house, and the fixtures are "add ons," they add character, personality, spice!
