I have been giving this topic A LOT of thought lately. I am hearing of and seeing so many quotes like this one flying around social media- & then I am hearing & seeing the opposite of this happening. Why, as women/Moms, are we NOT "Practicing what we preach?" Why are we cutting each other down, judging & being cruel to one another? I am NOT saying I am perfect, because believe me when I am hurt & on a rampage I am so guilty of saying unkind things....Here's the thing-
1. Negativity Breeds Negativity- meaning that when we are acting in negative ways, having negative thoughts and speaking negatively that is EXACTLY what we are going to bring into our lives...which is of course going to make us feel negative & continue to be nasty & hurtful to those around us.
2. This one is SO IMPORTANT- Look around You! Who is watching us? Our children! When we continue to be judgemental & hurtful to people & speak to people in a mean way guess what we are teaching our children? Yes! Our kids look up to us! They want to be just like us & when they see Mom, or Dad, acting in a negative way they assume that that is the way that they should be acting & the vicious cycle of Negativity continues!
Let's Break the Cycle-
This is not an easy thing to do. It comes with a lot of positive self talk, reminders to push through the negativity & at times removal from certain people and situations that bring us bad feelings and cause us to act in an ugly way.
I am working hard to train my mind to be positive.
I am meditating each morning.
Exercising before I begin my day- even if only for a little while to get the positivity flowing through my body.
I am reading self help books to stay positivity- currently reading: "You Can Have It All, Just Not at The Same Damn Time," by Romi Neustadt
Here are a list of things to do to stay positive & spread positivity so that we can will support one another & raise a generation of loving, kind people who smile & support one another.
