Do you have a holiday shopping list?
Getting & staying organized around the holidays is a skill all to its own. As we know most Moms have what we call"Holiday Anxiety." Don't get me wrong- I know you LOVE the holidays! The decorating as a family, baking together, visiting Santa, getting the Christmas tree & decorating, drinking hot chocolate together- the whole shebang... BUT we have A LOT to do & most of that "To Do" is behind the scenes. It is the prepping, the shopping, the wrapping, the organizing that the kids, & often others, do not see.
Well, I do not need one more thing to be stressed about. I want to enjoy my hot chocolate & be able to reorganize the ornaments on the Christmas tree in peace :) and I would be LOST without my Holiday Gift Spreadsheet. I am not a spreadsheet kind of girl on the daily. I will admit that lists are my jam & I could not live without them; but spreadsheets are not something I do often- actually I ONLY do a spreadsheet for my holiday gifts...like not at all for any other thing in my life ever.
I have found that this helps me so much- Not only does it help me to stay organized & see who I have & have not bought gifts for yet & when they have arrived- it keeps me on a budget! The stress of over spending for the holidays is an added stress that I do not need!
These are my steps to a well organized, SIMPLE, holiday Spreadsheet!
1. Make categories! These are mine
Name, Budget, Gift, Ordered, Delivered
2. Write/type in the names of every person you are shopping for this holiday season- EVERYONE! Including teachers, coaches, the dog
3. Decide on an OVERALL budget for the season- one that is reasonable, will NOT put you in debt that YOU feel comfortable with,
4. Decide on a budget for each person BEFORE you decide on a gift & input it in the "budget" category.
5. Start Shopping!
6. As you purchase each gift write what it is in the "Gift" category
7. If the gift was ordered online when the gift arrives put a check or X in the "Delivered" category
8. ENJOY the holidays with your family & Make your husband do ALL of the wrapping!!
If you would like a copy of my Holiday Gift Spreadsheet template let me know and I will send it your way!
